All the while I was monitoring memory, and couldn't help noticing the virtual memory size (through Sysinternals' Process Explorer, not Task Manager's 'VM size') would tend to get awfully close to the process size limit on Windows XP 32 (2GBs). Made sure drivers were the most recent available of course, disabling plugins didn't do the trick, medium engine speed didn't help, neither did setting textures to medium, nor altering/resetting other gfx settings or disabling sounds.
I tend to crash while traveling around, changing zone or entering towns especially, others crash when they log out their characters (apparently caused by the lua system), or when logging in, Happ圜loud seems to cause crashes too and uninstalling seems to have solved issues for some (I don't have that on my computer or even know what it is, so definitively not my case), and there are probably a few people having crashes due to overheating gfx cards, faulty drivers and the like.Īnyway, I've tried various things to make my crashes stop. Now, from reading other crash reports, it's quite obvious not everyone has the same issues. So basically, like many others, my game client has been crashing in Rohan with alarming frequency, coupled with long load time, it's made it pretty hard to actually enjoy the game. This may be of interest to the QA/dev team and perhaps other players with issues:
